The exterior was transformed with new siding, roof, windows, doors, front deck, landscaping, and newly built staircase to access the revived rooftop patio.

The main level originally had a small kitchen wedged between an older vaulted family room addition and the original living room. We knocked down walls and moved the kitchen to the back of the house to create a extensive, blended space. It is now custom made for entertaining with a large walk-in pantry, substantial island, plus views of the beautiful tiered backyard.

Two of the three upstairs bedrooms now have larger closets and a convenient pocket door was added between the owner's bedroom and the upper bath. The bath was transformed, top to bottom, using the space more efficiently and replacing a single sink with a double vanity.

The daylight lower level was revitalized by creating a finished, spacious laundry room, a large bedroom with exterior walk-out and a new flex space. The full bathroom was transformed and rearranged using existing plumbing, making space for a large, fully tiled shower, larger vanity and more accessible storage.

Formerly a 1950s brown brick two story, now a 5 br/4.5 bath fresh take on contemporary, updated throughout with a owner's suite and first floor family room addition. Mature landscaping gives privacy in the front and beautiful views from the patio and new deck to the expansive backyard.

The original kitchen was small and boxed in, so walls were blown out to create an open flow throughout the first floor. A new wall of windows stretch across the back of the house, with gorgeous views from every room. The gourmet kitchen with custom cabinets, 48" range and 15 foot island is perfect for both entertaining and everyday use. The front staircase was modernized and a small first floor bedroom was transformed into a generous mudroom with built-ins and a walk-in pantry.

Upstairs, a small dated bath and storage room have become a large Jack and Jill bath for the two front bedrooms. New, soaring ceilings throughout the second floor provide copious amounts of light through the large windows. The owner's suite addition includes a large, divided walk in closet and an enormous bathroom with a soaking tub and dual shower heads in the wet room. The laundry room was enlarged and conveniently moved to the second floor after previously being in the garage.

This grand 4 br/3.5 bath brick and stone home has great bones and a rich history but has fallen into disrepair over the years. We brought it back to life with modern amenities, while still giving tribute to that rich history.

To create a more welcoming and prominent entrance, we moved the front door to a central location, covering it with a new portico with architectural detail. The spacious 3-car garage is revitalized with new siding, doors, stonework, lighting, shingles and windows. The house is surrounded by multiple paver patios with integrated planter beds that, along with the landscaping, were brought back to its former glory.

We've swapped the kitchen and dining room and removed the massive brick furnace stack in order to create an open floor plan. In addition to all new cabinets and appliances, the kitchen features a 10-foot long island, pantry and new patio door. A new mudroom with plenty of storage and a powder room have been added adjacent to the foyer.

The living room, with wood-burning fireplace and classic mantle, remains in its original location on the South end of the house. A dated spa room became a convenient first floor study with direct access to a private patio. There are two new gas fireplaces on the North end of the house, one in the family room with custom built-ins and a second in a new screened in porch for relaxed indoor/outdoor living.

We found this land on the west side of Ann Arbor on a cozy street with the cutest homes, the ideal spot for two modern farmhouses perfect for young families. We call them the sister houses.
