We've designed this new  build home to capture views of the river from multiple rooms, including the upper rooftop deck. The main entrance opens to a large, combined living space with 9 foot ceilings and a modern gas fireplace surrounded by a glass wall. The open staircase will be another focal point with a buffet bar across the dining room. At the far end of the open plan is a large island in the chef’s kitchen with a pantry tucked neatly behind. An enormous kitchen window provides a view to the patio on the North side of the house, with a slider to the grilling deck on the South side. The main floor guest suite/office has access to the patio and a modern ensuite/guest bath is adjacent.  From the kitchen you are just a few steps from a large mudroom with a large storage closet. The 2 car garage has high ceilings with ample space for bikes, boats and other water crafts.

The second floor Primary bedroom with high vaulted ceiling, river views and access to the upper deck has a large bath with a soaking tub, marbled shower, dual sinks plus toilet room and leads to an attached walk in closet. Beyond the primary bedroom is a second floor family room with vaulted ceiling, ceiling fan, gas fireplace and built in benches. It has views on three sides and access to the upper deck surrounding it. Three bedrooms with a shared hall bath, plus a laundry room finish off the second floor.

We plan to turn this cube of fugly into a bright, contemporary/industrial home. The main entrance is up a flight of exterior modern steps and opens to a foyer with industrial interior windows dividing the living spaces, providing plenty of shared light throughout the main floor. To the left, the large open living room has a wood burning fireplace with nine foot ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. At the back of the house, both the large dining space with a built in buffet and the family room with beamed ceiling and fireplace, will have amazing views of the private backyard and access to the paver patios.

The bright kitchen will have a large island, deep countertops and a light filled pantry that expands the storage even further. Down the hallway, the main floor primary suite will feature vaulted ceilings, a wall of windows and a spa-like bathroom with soaking tub, glass shower, toilet room and dual vanities. Beyond, the large walk in closet will include a hook up for the first of three laundry room options. Access to the courtyard patio completes the primary suite. Also on the main floor, will be a guest room/office with a guest bath nearby.

The upper level opens with a study loft with vaulted ceilings and multiple windows facing North and East. There are 3 bedrooms on the upper level, one with an ensuite bathroom and two front bedrooms share a spacious Jack and Jill bathroom.The second floor will also include a large main laundry room (the second of three laundry room options) with plenty of counter space and storage.

And our name? The first initials of the names of our combined 5 children just happen to spell G.E.C.K.O. and Reno, as in Renovation!
